Sean Doyle has been announced as part of the three driver line for this weekends European Le Mans Series 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. The European Le Mans Series (ELMS) will be back in Belgium this weekend with the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, and promises to be one the great events of the 2016 season. Sean has driven with the Murphy Prototypes team in all of the ELMS rounds this year, underlining his potential as and up-and-coming driver, showing real maturity in his first season of endurance sportscar racing.

"Driving in this year’s European Le Mans Series for Greg Murphy and the Murphy Prototypes team has been a fantastic opportunity for me.  I’ve become more and more confident with the car as the season goes on".

"This weekend's 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps is even more special for me. The circuit is incredibly demanding, with fast, sweeping bends, lots of elevation changes and changeable weather conditions" commented Sean.

"Spa is one of the best tracks in the world and I have never raced there, so  I am really looking forward it. I've been working on my fitness levels right throughout the season, doing SIM work to make sure I’m well prepared for the tough requirements of  endurance racing  - and the demanding 4.35-mile Spa circuit is one of the toughest.I can't wait."

Sean will be racing the Murphy Prototypes Oreca-Nissan 03R #48 in the LMP2 category. The car has always had great pace at the faster tracks, and at the most recent ELMS race in Ricard, showed its true colours by qualifying on the 3rd row of the grid of over 40 cars.

At Spa, Murphy Prototypes is set to continue its support of young drivers with Garry Findlay rejoining the team having raced in the first ELMS round at Silverstone. New for Spa will be Brazilian driver, Bruno Bonifacio. Bonifacio has already won in Formula Renault at Spa-Francorchamps, as well as being a South American Formula 3 champion.

Commenting on his team mates, Sean says: "I'm thrilled to be joining up with Garry Findlay again - he is a great guy - so we will hit the ground running. Bruno looks to be a great talent - he will be a real addition to the team as he has already delivered podium finishes at Spa"

The track action for the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps kicks off with a 90-minute Free Practice session on Friday afternoon at 15:20. There’s a further 90-minutes of Free Practice on Saturday morning at 9.30 followed by a 10-minute qualifying session at 13.30 with the four-hour race scheduled to start at 14.00 on Sunday. Headed up by Dublin businessman Greg Murphy, the team is Ireland’s sole representative in the LMP2 (Le Mans Prototype Class 2) category in the ELMS (European Le Mans Series) and the 24-Hours of Le Mans. The car used by the team is a Nissan-powered Oreca 03R prototype sportscar.
